About:

The full form of CAG is Computer and Auditor General of India. This is India's constitutional authority, which was established under the Article 148 of the Constitution of India. It is authorized to review all the bills and expenditures of our government, of India, together with those of autonomous bodies and other firms that are supported by the government. CAG is additionally the statutory auditor of all government-owned corporations. They conduct supplementary audits of presidency firms during which the government would have its equity share of a minimum of fifty one percent or other subsidiary companies of the government.

This is the head of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, which is being managed by the Indian Audit and Accounts Service. Their vision is to be the best public sector auditing and global accounting leader and to be an initiator of national and international wide. Also to be recognized for being credible, balanced, independent and timely reporting on governance and public finance.

Application Procedure:

For applying to any of the post released by CAG, the candidate has to visit their official website. Search for the notification of the post you are interested in applying. Go through all the details given there clearly, check for the eligibility criteria like age limit, basic education qualifications required, the number of posts, whether the post is on a contractual basis or a permanent one, application fee if required, the last date for submitting your application form, etc. Once you are sure that you satisfy all the eligibility criteria they have mentioned, you can start with your application procedure. Selection process:

For job roles like accountants and auditors, they conduct the written test in two levels, a preliminary examination and mains exam. Applicants clearing the preliminary test would be eligible for attending the mains exam. They select candidates for the job based on their performance during the written test and that interview. For some posts, they shortlist the candidates directly for the interview, based on the merit list and academic performance, the final job offer would be given based on the performance during the interview.
