The full form of IBPS is the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). This is an autonomous body that started to implement and evolve world-class processes of assessment and selection of candidates for various client organizations. The foundation of this body is made based on the philosophy of accuracy, confidentiality and speed in all its activities. It endeavors to achieve this through a mix of academic expertise and technology.
This provides its service to all public sector banks, associate banks of RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, SBI, few corporate banks, LIC, SBI and insurance companies. These are all regular members of the IBPS society.
