About the college

The full form of KCGMC is Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College. Haryana’s state government has established this medical college and hospital having all the modern amenities in the main city centre of Karnal city. This college is named after the famous astronaut, Kalpana Chawla.

This Medical College and Hospital is covering an overall area of more than fifty acres. With the founding of this particular medical college, the expectations and ambitions of the individuals of their location will be encountered with the principles of health facilities growing up and students are also getting benefitted with the benefit receiving improved educational opportunities in a genial environment. 

Currently, they have a facility of more than three hundred beds and that will be increased to over 700 beds in a phased manner. They also have a state of the art equipment like Computerized Radiography, CT Scan, Laparoscope, laser, TURP, Automatic Cell Counters, Color Doppler, Operating Microscopes, facilities and fully efficient biochemistry laboratory.

Their academic building also have all the necessary divisions for 100 medical seats as per MCI guidelines that includes para clinical, preclinical, and clinical departments including demonstration museum, rooms, student laboratories and departmental library that have the facilities of air conditioned main library and also lecture theatres. They even have state of the art advanced facilities with Wi-Fi connected campus and hostels.
