About the Institute:
NABI stands for National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute. This is the first ever agriculture and food based biotechnological institute that was established in our country. This institute has started its journey during February of 2010. This college aims to catalyse the transformation of Agriculture and food sector of the country. They have the vision to be a nodal institute for translational science and information generation that can lead to value added products that are based on Agri-food biotechnical innovations.
Their main research focus involves harnessing biotechnological tools in the field of Agriculture, Food, Biotechnology, and Nutritional Biotechnology so as to deliver viable and innovative solutions to nutrition and quality food.
The different activities and various areas in which this institute take its part are Human Resource Development, Agricultural Biotechnology, Technology Transfer and Outreach, Food and Nutritional Biotechnology, Meeting and Courses.
This institute has advanced strong connexions with various national and international industries and organizations. This NABI is part of agriculture and food bunch known as the “Knowledge City” of Mohali district of Punjab, and alongside with its neighbouring institutes.
Their vision is to attain nutritional and food security for everyone via agriculture and food biotechnology research and innovation. NABI’s mission is to be a hub of brilliance and to deliver leadership in agriculture and food biotechnology research. Their main goal is to improve availability of affordable agriculture food with nutritional quality and food products via new innovations.
