About the court
The Orissa high court is situated at Cuttack city of Odisha state. This got established during the year 1948. Earlier Bengal state was a very big province that includes Assam, Bihar, Odhisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal. So it was difficult for administration and each state has different native languages. So as time proceeded, these states got divided and new states were formed. During the year 1936, Odisha became a separate province but it was not having any specific high court. Later the government of our country issued permissions to create their own new high court and thus this Odisha high court came into existence in the year 1948.
