The tribal public of Tripura state had been questing for autonomy for many years to preserve and endorse their discrete ways of lifestyle. It is against this contextual that the state government and also the central government decided to start an independent district council for the zones mainly having tribal residents of their state to introduce internal autonomy in tribal dense zones and thus safeguard the economic, social and cultural interests of the tribal population.

Their main objective behind setting up the Autonomous District Council is to give certain administrative and legal authority to that council in order that it may pledge concerted attention to all features of cultural, social and economic improvement of the tribal people who for historical details currently belong to the weaker segments of society and thus to free them from all types of social injustice. The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council was established under the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India.

The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council was established over vote by secret ballot during January 1982 and the elected fellows were sworn in on January of 1982.

Then, the Constitution of India has been modified by a bill and it was solidly passed at the floor of the Indian Parliament on during the year 1984 for overview of the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of India. A new election under the Sixth Schedule has been held on during june of 1985 over vote by secret ballot and the elected members were on oath during june of the year 1985 consequently.

Application procedure and mode of selection

Go through the notification very clearly and check for all the eligibility criteria mentioned in their notification such as education qualification and specialization required, maximum age limit, work experience if expected, etc. Generally for most of the positions they expect the candidates to apply online via courier. Along with application form that contains personal information and education qualification details as well. To that courier along with the application form, other supporting documents such as mark lists, coloured photograph, SSC, PUC, degree and other qualifying certificates has to attached along with the application form while couriering. The document list that has to be submitted for application would be mentioned in the notification. All the photocopies of these documents has to be self attested by the applicant. They do not accept any applications they receive after the deadline.

The screening process for most of the technical positions is through written test followed by a face to face interview. In other cases they screen the candidates based on the applications and their eligibility and academic credentials to conduct interviews. For some temporary positions they open for walk-in mode of interviews.
