The full form of UCIL is Uranium Corporation of India Limited. This was incorporated in the year 1967. This company is a public sector enterprise that comes under the department of atomic energy with a unique standing at the forefront of Nuclear Power cycle. They play a very major role for nuclear power generation in India. This company has even adopted many modern technologies for their process plants and mines. They operate at 1 open pit mine at Banduhurang in Jharkhand state and 6 underground mines such as Bhatin, Bagjata, Mohuldih, Narwapahar, Jaduguda, and Taramdih . At Jaduguda and Turamdih the ore that is produced from all these mines are processes. They also have an operating underground mine and a processing plants located at Tummalapalle in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The UCIL has also taken up some expansion of some of their operations in Jharkhand state and they started a pre-project activities to start up new plants and mines at different locations of our country. They are planning at Lambapur in Telangana, Gogi in Karnataka, and KP M in Meghalaya.
The mission of UCIL is to meet the requirements of Uranium needed for Nuclear Power Programme in the most efficient way and then to commensurate with prescribed standards of environment protection and safety. Their vision is to continuously strive to improve and implement a technology for processing of uranium ore and mining at a cheaper price and diversify towards tunnelling, mining and process related consultancy and various other project implementation ventures.
For most of the posts, the mode of application is through post or courier. There would be an application form along with their official notification. The candidate has to download the application form, fill it and then enclose self attested photocopies of documents and certificates that supports qualification, experience, age proof, marklists, etc. All these have to be enclosed and send to the address they mentioned in the notification. The application form and those supporting documents have to reach the mentioned address before the deadline. They would not entertain any applications that reach after the deadline.
Most of the vacancies released by UCIL are on a contract basis, they initially recruit the candidates on a short term or temporary contractual basis and they extend the duration of the job if the performance of the candidate is satisfactory. But they are not permanent posts.
For initial screening, the shortlisting of the candidates is done based on the merit list. Candidates will get placed only if the applicants qualify for all the necessary requirements mentioned in the advertisement. The mode of selection for almost all the posts is through face to face interviews.
For some of the posts, they release notifications for the walk in mode of interviews. In that case, the selection is made based on the performance during the interview.
