About the company:

The full form of WII is The Wildlife Institute of India (WII). This is an autonomous establishment under the governance of the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate changeGovernment of India. WII was established in the year 1982. This institute studies about wildlife analysis in subjects of study such as , endangered species, biodiversity, wildlife policy, wildlife Management, Ecodevelopment, wildlife Forensics, abstraction Modeling, Ecotoxicology, environment Ecology and Climate Change. This also incorporates an R and D center which has Forensics, Herbarium Remote Sensing and GIS Laboratory, and an Electronic Library. The founder-director of WII was V. B. Saharia, whereas the first Director was Hemendra Singh Panwar. He remained the director from 1985 to 1994. Trained personnel from WII have contributed in learning and protecting wildlife in India. The national tiger count or the all-India Tiger Estimation is generally done by WII along with NTCA and other state forest departments.

This institute is situated in Dehradun, India. It is located in Chandrabani, which is close to the southern forests of Dehradun. They have a campus that is 180 acres big, in which 100 acre's is in the wilderness and 80 acres is operational services. It is close to Rajaji National Park. The training for the direct recruits of the State Forest Officers and also those who are employed as India Forest Service officers is given here itself.
