Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
- Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, firewalls, load balancers, switches – L3-L4, WAN Protocols
- Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Arranging scheduled upgrades
- Investigating faults in the network
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Familiarity with the following vendors:
- F5
- Cisco
- Palo Alto
Skills/ Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. Degrees in the following subjects can be included:
- Computer science
- Computer software/computer systems engineering
- Computer systems and networks
- Electrical/electronic engineering
- Mathematics
- Network security management
- Physics
- Cisco CCNA Required, Cisco CCSP Desirable
- Experience working in project team settings
- An analytical mind
- An ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Great time management skills
- An ability to follow current processes and look for opportunities of improvement
- Strong documentation skills
- Excellentcommunication skills– both written and verbal
- Commercial and business awareness
