AIISH stands for All India Institute of Speech and Hearing. This is one of the pioneering national institute that has been established for advancing the causes of human resource development, clinical care, research and public education on communication disorders. This organization started operating in the year 1966 and it is an autonomous institute completely funded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare by government of India.

The institute is situated just adjacent to the University of Mysore and this is a lush green campus with an area of 32 acres. This is a unique institute in the Asian sub-continent which houses 11 departments containing facilities to offer training and research in inter-disciplinary fields to the ladies hostel, academic, administrative, students, clinical buildings and the knowledge park with well equipped information centre and library. They have two more campuses, one at Panchvati and the other one is at Varuna in Mysore. The major objectives of this institute are to render clinical services, impart professional training, educate the public on topic related to communication disorders like mental retardation, hearing impairment, voice fluency, language disorders and phonological issues and to impart professional training.

They have been working for the past five decades in furthering the cause of professions of speech language pathology, audiology and special education all over the country. The alumni of AIISH occupy crucial positions in clinical, academic and administrative setups at different locations of the worlds and all over India.

Application Procedure and mode of selection:

Log on to their official website and go to their recruitment page. Find the notification you wish to apply for and go through the notification clearly and check for all the eligibility criteria they have mentioned in their advertisement. Read the job description to know the nature of appointment (if it is a temporary post or a permanent tenure). Most of the positions they mention in the advertisement would be for a tenure of one year. So check it before proceeding further.

They generally open for walk in mode of interviews, so there is no need to submit any application form either online or through offline. Once you make sure that you fulfil all the eligibility criteria you can directly walk in to the interview with documents mentioned in the notification. The recruitment is done based on the performance of the candidate during that interview, only if the candidate meets all the eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification. No travelling or dining allowance would be provided for attending the interview.
