About the University
BFUHS stands for Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. This university was established under an Act approved by the Legislature of the Punjab state during July of 1998. The main mission of this university is to make an academic, intellectual, and physical environment, favourable to at liberty flow of thoughts and exchange of information among different faculties of the university and among this University and additional Universities of Health Sciences in our nation and overseas, thereby opening a window to the world for the health planners, biomedical, health professionals, health managers and social scientists and instructors in health sciences of India.
This was established in the reminiscence of great Sufi Saint Baba Farid by the Punjab government during July of the year 1998, under the act of the State Legislature. This university is fifth of its kind in India, and the first in regions of Northern India. Because of insufficiency of health professionals in terms of quantity and quality the need was impending. This university is expected to be a Pace-setter for emerging suitable modes and models of health care. This university dedicated to providing community concerned with need based education and teaching programmes for several health professionals.
Application procedure
For most of the posts, the mode of application is through post or courier or by hand. There would be an application form along with their official notification. The candidate has to download the application form, fill it and then enclose self attested photocopies of documents and certificates that talk about qualification, experience, age proof, training, etc. All these have to be enclosed and send to the address they mentioned in the notification. There is a nominal application fee that varies with the position and category. The bank demand draft copy has to be attached to that post. The application form and those supporting documents have to reach them before the deadline. They do not entertain any applications that reach after the deadline.
Selection process:
Most of the vacancies released by BFUHS are on a temporary basis, they initially recruit the candidates on a short term or temporary contractual basis and they extend the duration of the job if the performance of the candidate is satisfactory. But they are not permanent posts.
For initial screening, the shortlisting of the candidates is done based on the merit list. Candidates will get placed only if the applicants qualify for all the necessary requirements mentioned in the advertisement. The mode of selection for almost all the posts is through face to face interviews.
For some of the posts, they release notifications through walk in mode of interviews. In that case, the selection is made based on the performance during the interview.
