About:

The cantonment board is a civic administration body of our country under the control of the Ministry of Defence. As per the Cantonments Act, 2006, it comprises of elected members apart from their ex-officials and nominated members. The official period of office of a member of this board is five years. A cantonment board comprises of three nominated military members, eight elected members, three ex-official members consisting of garrison engineer, station commander, and senior executive medical officer; and one district magistrate.

There are 64 Cantonment Boards in India and the cantonments are divided into four categories. Cantonment has their boards in the north, north-west, central, north-central, west, east and southern parts of India, at almost all the major cities of India. This board handles all mandatory duties like provision of water supply, sanitation, public health, primary education and street lighting, etc. for fulfilling these duties, and they get financial assistance from the Government of India.

Candidates who got shortlisted would have to download the admit cards from their website. The date and venue of the interview would be given on their official site. So the offer is given to those clearing the interview.
