The full form of DRDO is Defence Research and Development Organization. It is the Research and Development wing of the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India, with an imaginative and prescient to empower India with contemporary defense technology and a project to obtain self-reliance in vital defense technology and structures, while equipping our military with ultra-modern weapon structures and equipment according to necessities laid down through the 3 Services. DRDO's pursuit of self-reliance and a success indigenous improvement and manufacturing of strategic facilities and systems including Agni and Prithvi collection of missiles; mild fight aircraft, Tejas; multi-barrel rocket launcher, Pinaka; air defense system, Akash; a huge variety of radars and digital struggle structures; and many others., have given quantum soar to India's army might, producing powerful deterrence and imparting necessary leverage.

DRDO was started in 1958 from the amalgamation of the then already functioning Technical Development Establishment (TDEs) of the Indian Army and the Directorate of Technical Development & Production (DTDP) with the Defence Science Organisation (DSO). It was then a small corporation with 10 laboratories or institutions. With time, it has developed into multi-directionally in phrases of the type of concern disciplines, range of laboratories, achievements and stature.

On the present day, DRDO is a community of greater than 50 laboratories that are deeply involved in growing defence technology protecting numerous disciplines, like aeronautics, engineering structures, instrumentation, armaments, electronics, fight vehicles, naval structures, missiles, superior computing and simulation, unique materials, existence sciences, training, records structures and agriculture. Application Procedure:

The application procedure depends on the job role or type and the location. For JRF, SRF and RA, in some cases, they ask the candidate to courier the filled form along with photocopies of other documents. In other cases, they ask the applicants to send their documents through mail. For scientist positions, they ask the candidates to fill up the form online on their official website, in the careers page. Check for the eligibility conditions like basic education qualification required, age limit, work experience if required, etc., before proceeding with your application. Check whether the posts are on contractual or temporary or on a permanent basis.

Selection process:

DRDO recruits for most of the posts via written test followed by an interview. Carry your online application form, call letters, along with other self-attested photocopies of supporting documents to the exam venue. Upon successfully clearing the written test, applicants would be shortlisted to attend a face-to-face interview.

For JRF or SRF positions, the candidates would be shortlisted to attend the face-to-face interview. Shortlisted candidates would get a mail regarding the same and they post the list on their careers page of the official website. So selection is made based on their performance during the interview.
