About the Company
FCI stands for Food corporation of India (FCI). This is a non constitutional body created in 1964 under the ownership of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Government of India. It was created in order to fulfill certain objectives of the Food Policy under the act of Food Corporation’s Act 1964.
The organisation headquarter is located in Delhi and it has many regional centers in the capital cities of the states. Since the beginning, Food Corporation of India has been playing a noteworthy role in transforming the crisis management related food security into a stable security system.
FCI is one of the largest corporations in India and also the largest supply chain management in the entire Asia. Given the fact that FCI has numerous regional centers across India, the organisational structure is huge with employees under its payroll from diverse sectors. Hence, there have been many job notifications from FCI over the years.
FCI is divided into 5 zones namely East, West, North, South, & North-East with one Zonal Office in each of the zones. The zonal offices are located in Kolkata, Mumbai, Noida, Chennai, and Guwahati respectively.
One of the major operations of FCI includes procuring rice and wheat from farmers across India through the conventional methods such as purchase centres, custom milling.
Application Process
FCI announces the job notifications under Category I, Category II, and Category III recruitment. The application process is relatively a simple one.
Interested and eligible candidates (as per the requirement of the job) has to do the online registration in order to apply. FCI allows applicants to edit the application details up to a certain time period under which the candidate can make changes or correct the details given while doing the online registration.
The final step includes making a nominal online payment as guided by the FCI in the job notification.
Once the registrations are closed, applications will be released online through which the candidate can download them. Candidates will be able to download the applications only for a certain time period post which applications will be removed.
Selection Process
The selection process includes a 2 phase online examination post which shortlisted candidates will be called out for the document verification. Shortlisting could be done based on the reservation for that particular role as most of the job releases are based on the reservations.
After the verification is done, eligible candidates will be called out for an interview after the document verification is complete.

The most recent job notifications are released for the roles of Assistant General Manager (General Administration / Technical / Law / Accounts) and Medical Officer under Category I recruitment.
Manager (Depot / General / Accounts / Movements / Technical / Electrical Engineering / Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering/Hindi) for all the 5 zones under Category II recruitment.
Junior Engineer (Electrical Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering), Steno Grade-II, Typist (Hindi), Assistant Grade-II (Hindi), Assistant Grade-III (Depot / Accounts / General / Technical).
