The Gujarat High Court is the High Court of the Gujarat state. This was established as per the Mumbai’s re-organization act of the year 1960, when Gujarat got separated from then Mumbai state. This high court was formed during May of 1960. The current strength of the Gujarat High court is 30 against approved people of 52.

This was initiated due to the division of state of Bombay into current states of Gujarat and Maharashtra. They started operative near Akashwani, Navrangpura of Ahmedabad district. They later relocated their building to Sola area of Ahmedabad in the year 1999.

They have their jurisdiction over the complete Gujarat state. It has control over all the districts of Gujarat, and also organisational and jurisdiction over other courts in Gujarat. This court of record are authorised to punish anyone for disapproval of the court. The Gujarat high court also contains the authority to question several writs to courts and authority under its dominion.
