Hindustan Copper Limited was started during the year 1967. This is a public sector undertaking that comes under the managerial control of the Ministry of Mines. It has the peculiarity of being the nation’s only sheer incorporated copper producing company as it produces copper right from the phase of mining to its final stage saleable products and this is done through a process of beneficiation, smelting, refining and casting of refined copper metal.

This company sells continuous cast copper rods, copper wire bar, copper cathodes, and several by-products, such as anode slime that contains gold, silver and other metallic elements, copper sulphate and sulphuric acid. In standard practice, more than 90 percent of the sales income is made via selling of cathode and continuously casted copper rods. During the financial year 2016 and 2017, as per provisional estimates, this company has earned a net profit of around 62 crore Indian rupees over a sales turnover of 1216.94 crore Indian rupees. Their mines and plants are spread across 5 operating Units across the northern part of our country, situated in the states of Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat.

Application procedure

Interested candidates can visit their official website and go to the vacancies or recruitment page. Go through the notification clearly and check for all the details given there. Make sure you possess all the eligibility conditions given in their notification. The mode of application changes depending on the vacancy. For some positions they expect the candidates to register online and fill up their application form. In other cases, like apprentice positions or some other jobs, the mode of application is via courier or post. They provide an application form along with their official notification. The candidate has to download the application form, fill it and then enclose self attested photocopies of documents and certificates that talk about qualification, experience, age proof, training, etc. All these have to be enclosed and send to the address they mentioned in the notification. The application form and those supporting documents have to reach them before the deadline. They would not entertain any applications that reach after the deadline.

Mode of selection

Mode of selection shall be through written test followed by Trade Test. Written Test shall be held in the form of multiple choice questions. Successful candidates in written test shall further go for Trade Test. The Trade Test shall be conducted on the same day for the successful candidates in written test. Final selection of the candidates in each seat will be made after verification of documents. Shortlisted candidate has to attend the document verification on the date & time at the venue, intimated by the Company.
