HNBGU stands for Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University was established during the year 1973. This started as a State University. Later this university was transformed to a central university in the beginning of 2009. The University is situated in the lap of Himalayan ranges in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand state.
