Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited was formed during the year 1974. This
Company comes uder Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE). They enjoy more than 18 percent market share in our country and they also have a strong existence in Refining and Marketing of petrol and petroleum products in India.
They currently own and also operate Refineries at Mumbai - west coast and Visakhapatnam - East coast with intended volumes of 7.5. Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum and also 8.3 MMTPA correspondingly. They also possesses the largest Lube Plant in India at Mumbai for producing Lube Oil Base Stock which is having a capacity of around 428 TMTPA. They even holds around 49 percent equity stake in JV company, and many such equity stakes in other companies as well.
They have a vast publicising network comprising of around fourteen zonal offices in major cities and also 133 regional offices simplified by a supply and distribution substructure encompassing forty three terminals or tops or installations, 50 LPG bottling plants, 44 aviation fuel stations, and 68 inland relay or lube depots. The client touch points constitute of approximately 16,868 retail outlets, 1,638 SKO or LDO dealers and 6,137 LPG Distributorships, 115 resounding and forwarding agents, 253 Lube distributorships with a customer base of over 8.4 crore domestic LPG consumers.
HPCL has the second major share of product pipelines in our country with a pipeline network length of around 3,775 kilometers.

The mode of recruitment depends on the job title and its experience. For some of the posts they recruit the candidates through written test, group discussion and an interview. For some positions they shortlist the candidates directly for face to face interviews based on their application. For some non-technical posts like managers and other positions they call the candidates for a walk-in interview so the offer is given based on their performance during the interview. Appointment is subject to the candidate being medically fit as per the standards prescribed for the post by the Company. Shortlisted candidates shall be required to get their Pre-Employment Medical Examination done in HPCL nominated impanelled hospitals.
