HSSC stands for Haryana Staff Selection Commission. This was started as per the provision of Article 309 under the constitution of India, vide Haryana Government notification. They got their statutory status as Haryana Staff Selection Commission through Haryana Government Gazette notification in the year 2005.

This commission is responsible for conducting levels of examinations as well as interviews to appoint candidates for Group ‘C’ services. There are also called up on to arrange and conduct similar examinations and interviews for appointing to various group ‘B’ and group ‘D’ services for the state government of Haryana. They decide the mode of selection for that particular post and also fix the eligibility criteria as per the requisitions from appropriate departments. All those details would be advertised clearly in both English and Hindi on their website as well as newspaper. Their commission consists of five members that include the main chairman being appointed by the government of Haryana, and others for different departments.

The main functions of HSSC include the initial appointment of non-gazetted group ‘C’ officers for their state government as per the article 229 of the constitution of India. They also handle transfers and promotions from one post to another services or posts. They set the rules, principles, and methods that have to be followed to appoint group ‘D’ and group ‘C’ posts under Haryana’s state government.

Selection process:

On successful submission of the application form, wait for any further updates from them. They recruit through a preliminary test, mains test, and a face to face interview. Eligible candidates would have to attend the preliminary test initially. Admit cards would be released on their site for attending the test and all the details about the test date, the venue would be given on that admit card. On successfully clearing the preliminary test, they can attempt the mains exam. Finally, the candidates clearing the mains exam would have to attend the final interview. The job offer is based on their performance during the interview. The candidates would get the job on successfully clearing the interview and document verification.
