IGNOU stands for The Indira Gandhi National Open University, and this was established as per the Act of Parliament of the year 1985. They started by contribution of two academic programmes during 1987, that is Diploma in Distance Education, and Diploma in Management, with an initial strength of 4,528 students.
At the moment, it aids the educational objectives of more than 3 million students in our country and other global countries via their twenty-one schools of studies and a complete network of 67 regional centres, around 2,000 Learner Support Centres and around twenty overseas institutions.
The mandate of INGOU is to offer admission to higher education to all segments of the society. They also offer high-quality, novel and essential programmes at diverse fields and levels, to all students who require them. They also reach out to the underprivileged by contribution of programmes in all parts of the nation at affordable prices. They coordinate, promote, and regulate the ideals of education offered via open and distance learning in the nation. They continuously strive to attain the twin purposes of broadening access for all units of the society and if that repeated professional progress and training to all segments of the economy, they also use a diversity of media and modern technology in communicating education. This is mirrored in the expressed vision of their university, keeping their objectives in focus.

Application procedure
The only mode of application is via online on their website. Please fill up the application form clearly and upload all the mandatory documents asked by them. Finally, submit your application form. For some positions candidates are supposed to send the application by courier too, after online applications is done. They do not accept any other mode of application.
Please send your applications by post in the prescribed format as given below neatly ‘typed’ alongwith the self attested copies of all the certificates as required for the post at the following address so as to reach before the deadline.
Mode of Selection
The mode of recruitment depends on the job title and its experience. For some of the posts they recruit the candidates through written test and an interview. For faculty positions they shortlist the candidates directly for face to face interviews based on their application. For some non-technical posts like doctors and related posts they call the candidates for a walk-in interview so the offer is given based on their performance during the interview.
