About the university:
IGNTU stands for Indira Gandhi National Tribal University. This university is located at Amarkantak in Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh, India. IGNTU was established via the act of parliament known as the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University act during the year 2007 by The Government of India. The jurisdiction of this university extends to the whole nation and it is fully funded through the university grant commission by the central government. This college was established with a purpose to cater to the tribals’ long cherished dream of perusing higher education.
The tribal people are rich in their skills of arts and crafts, cultural heritage and knowledge. But they are relegated in respect to higher education as well as in another journeys of life. Currently at this stage of globalization taking place all around, where the world has become a village due to the advancements in technology. But the Indian tribes are still very far behind in taking part in this advancement. So in order to bring them out of this current plight, IGNTU has put some aims and objectives. That includes providing them avenues of education mainly research facilities and higher education. They also strive to disseminate advanced knowledge by providing them with research facilities and instructions in tribal arts, culture, language, customs, medicinal systems, traditions, flora and fauna, technological advancements, forest based economic activities, etc. that are relating to the natural resources that are available in their tribal areas. They also collaborate with both international and national organizations and universities for undertaking research and cultural studies on tribal communities. Though they are established with the aim to provide more opportunities and knowledge to the tribes, it is open to all the students.
Application Procedure and mode of recruitment
On the recruitment page of their official website, there is a different option for regular recruitment and contractual recruitment. The mode of application for most of the posts advertised by them is via email. The eligible and interested candidates can apply by mailing them their complete bio-data along with other required and supporting certificates. These forms have to be self-attested photocopies. Then all these certificates and application form has to be mailed to the specified mail id before the deadline that would be mentioned in their advertisement.
The suitable applicants as per their guideless will be shortlisted and the same would be intimated via email or telephone for attending the interview either online or offline. They also upload the list of shortlisted candidates for attending the interview on their recruitment page. They would not provide any traveling or dining allowance for attending the interview. For some positions, they release notifications for walk in mode of recruitment, but in that case, also they expect the candidates to email their application form.
Various job types or roles notified by IGNTU:
IGNTU recruits for various posts on a contractual basis such as guest faculties in the yoga department, vocational education, pharmacy department, etc. and also research positions such as junior research fellow, senior research fellows, research assistants, etc. On a regular recruitment basis they hire assistant professors, associate professors and professors for all the departments.
