IIT Bombay was established in the year 1958, it was initially set up with foreign support. They got the funds from UNESCO from the then Soviet Union. Parliament has decreed the IIT’s as the institutes of national importance during the year 1961. Application Procedure:

To apply for any of the posts released by IIT Bombay, it is suggested to interested candidates to visit their official website. Find the notification and go through all the details mentioned there. Check for the eligibility criteria like basic education qualification required, maximum age limit, number of positions vacant, whether the job is on a contractual or permanent basis, the deadline for submitting your application form, etc. Make sure that you are an eligible candidate for that position and then you can start with your application process. For some of the positions mainly non-teaching jobs, the mode of application is online submission. Fill up the application form with required details and upload all the necessary documents. Selection process:

The mode of recruitment depends on the job title and its experience. For some of the posts they recruit the candidates through written test and an interview. For faculty positions they shortlist the candidates directly for face to face interviews based on their application. For some non-technical posts like doctors and related posts they call the candidates for a walk-in interview so the offer is given based on their performance during the interview.

In research fields they release notifications for junior research fellows, senior research fellows, project assistants and post-doctoral fellowships in all the departments.
