The full form of JIPMER is Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research. This institute traces its origin to the ‘Ecole de Medicine de Pondicherry’ established by the French Government in 1823. Foundation for the new medical college is laid in 1956, and the hospital was inaugurated in 1964. JIPMER is an institution of national importance under the ministry of health and family welfare, Government of India, in the year 2008. This institution is aimed at teaching, patient health care, and research. It spreads over 192 acres. They have one administrative block, one nursing college, seven accessory services buildings, one academic center, seven hospital blocks, and four residential complexes. They teach on 12 broad areas of medical, allied health science courses and nursing covering major disciplines in healthcare starting from basic to super specialty training is conducted.

Application and Selection Procedure:
Generally, for junior and senior research fellow jobs, they select based on written examination and personal interview. For faculty positions, the mode of recruitment is on a permanent basis, and they select candidates based on their interview performance. They call the applicant for the interview and no change in date is entertained. For other general posts, they call for walk-in interviews on a specified date. Candidates are expected to attend the interview by reaching the venue on the specified date and time. Kindly check whether you fulfil all the eligible criteria like educational qualifications, age, experience, etc. If you have all the desired qualifications, then only attend the interview.
