About the Company:
Kerala Public Service Commission is also known as Kerala PSC, it is a body created by the Constitution of India.
The head office of the Kerala PSC is based out of the State Capital Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram. The Governor of the state appoints the Chairman and Members of the Commission, whereas the provision in the constitution ensures the competence of the Commission on dealing with the matters relating to their services and enables them to perform their duties in a fair and impartial way.
The Commission advises the Government on the matters related to the public services that are mentioned in various articles of the constitution. Few of those services are publishing notifications of different posts, inviting applications as per the requisitions mentioned by the appointing authorities. They are conducting written test or practical test based on the position, physical efficiency test followed by an interview, preparation of the ranked list based on the candidates’ performance which is strictly based on their merits and considering the rules of reservation as and when the vacancies are reported in their respective departments.
The primary function of the Commission is to render advice on all the matters related to the methods of recruitment to different civil service posts. Also on the principles which are to be followed in making appointments, promotions and transfers to civil services and posts.
Application Procedure:
Applicants must register with the Official website of Kerala PSC as per one time registration before applying to any post. It is the applicant’s responsibility to check all the details before submitting the application as the PSC has all the rights to reject the application subject to any kind of noncompliance with the notification. All the notifications for different posts and their eligibility criteria, post wise syllabus, practice tests and previous years question papers are available on their official website. The name of the candidate and photograph which is submitted should meet the requirements as those are valid for 10 years from the date of uploading. No application fee is collected and the applicant has to login to their profile using username and password every time to apply for the new notifications or to download any kind of information.
Selection process:
For most of the jobs, the mode of selection would be through written test, unless mentioned otherwise. Kindly check for the details in the notification pdf from their official site to know whether they conduct a written test or an interview. For some posts, they might open walk in interviews.
