KMML stands for Kerala Minerals and Metals Limited. This got established in the year 1974. KMML is the only integrated Titanium dioxide industry in India that is having facilities having mineral separation equipment, mining, pigment production and synthetic rutile plants. Not only they produce rutile grade Titanium Dioxide pigment from different types of companies, and they also produce other heavy metals such as ilmenite, zircon, synthetic rutile, rutile, etc. They manufacture titanium dioxide via the chloride route, and they produce very high quality rutile grade titanium dioxide pigments. They have an R and D department that does commendable work and this also helps the company to add more color to their portfolio. There are a continuous demand and growth in the industry and economy, the products that they manufacture get sold out by the eager market. This has set the wheels turning for their expansion.

They are now in the aerospace industry and defense applications with the contracting of the titanium sponge plant. KMML, the Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory and Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre combined to make a joint venture known as TSP. This Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre has funded Rs. 143 crores for TSP project. India became the seventh country on this planet to produce titanium sponge and that is the raw material to produce titanium metal which is mostly used for aerospace applications. This titanium is famous and well used due to its low weight yet having high strength. This makes titanium an ideal metal for fighter craft manufacturing. This is also used in several engine parts, ocean platforms, heat exchangers, nuclear plants, dental implants, heat exchangers, reactors and artificial bones.

Application Procedure:

Go through the notification clearly and check for all the eligibility criteria like nationality or the state, education qualification expected and the stream, age limit, relevant work experience if required, etc. Follow the steps as mentioned in their notification. For most of the positions, they ask the candidates to courier their application to the mentioned postal address. In such cases, interested and eligible candidates have to fill up the application form given on their website by taking the printout and then courier it with all other supporting documents. There would be nominal application fees that have to be paid through online mode. This is not applicable to everyone. So kindly verify those payment details.

Selection process:

The mode of recruitment for most of the positions is through a trade test and a face to face interview. They screen the candidates for attending the trade test if they fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned by them in the notification. Candidates clearing that trade test would be eligible to attend the interview.

The different jobs that are notified by KMML are executive trainee in departments from mechanical, instrumentation and electrical; personnel officer, security officer, mines foreman, junior technician in various fields like plumber, instrumentation, welder, turner, blacksmith, fitter and electrician field etc. Most of the posts are on a permanent basis.
