About the commission
Meghalaya Public State Commission is being established during September of the year 1972. This was constituted under the article 315 read with article 316 of the constitution of India. Their first office was accommodated in the building of the public works department of lower lachumiere located in Shillong.
Because of the increased work load and high staff members they shifted their office to the first floor of the House Shoe Building, located at Lower Lachumeire of Shillong during the month of may in 1993.
The primary function of Meghalaya Public State Commission is to conduct examinations to appoint to the government services in their state. They also advice the state government of Meghalaya in topics relating to various civil services in their state and all the disciplinary issues that affect the government and their employees. They also handle all other issues that may be concerned by the governor.
Application Procedure:
Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for Indian public service commission posts. Candidates are recommended to go through the notification carefully on Meghalaya’s Public Service Commission official website. Please check for all the eligibility criteria mentioned such as education qualification required for that particular post, maximum age limit, relevant work experience, etc. Keep all these points verified before starting with your application. Follow the instructions carefully given in their notification. The applicants are supposed to apply only online on the careers page of their official site by clicking on the ‘Online Application.’ Enter all the required details given in the application form and upload your necessary documents (make sure to follow the guidelines mentioned in their notification and application form carefully while filling up the form and uploading your supporting documents like dimensions, format and size). Review your details, and if everything you entered is correct, then you can go ahead and submit your application. There would be some application fee in the case of some jobs and also there would be some relaxation mentioned according to category and gender, etc. so verify those details during your application process.
Selection process:
After successful submission of the required documents and submitting the application form, wait for any further response from them. For most of the posts like a civil or an electrical engineer they conduct a preliminary test, mains test and a face to face interview. Eligible applicants would have to attend the preliminary test initially. After clearing the preliminary exam, they would be eligible to attempt the mains exam. At last the candidates clearing the mains exam would get the opportunity to attend the interview. The final job offer is based on their performance during the interview. The applicants get the job on successfully clearing the interview and document verification.
