MES – Military Engineer Services is one of the top construction company and it is one of the pillars of engineers from the Indian army. They provide the rear line engineering support and services to the armed forces. They are the largest maintenance and construction companies in our country with a total of annual budget approximately Rs. 13000 crores. They are also responsible for creating the operational and strategic infrastructure that is older than the major roads, they are also the administrative habitat for all the 3 services and also some associated companies that comes under the ministry of defence. This organization comes under military but this has officers from the both army and civilian components and also other subordinate staff.

They have been entrusted with many important projects that are very crucial for the operational efficiency of armed forces of our country. This is the only construction agency in our country that carries out all the tasks related to construction of office and residential buildings, roads, runways, hospitals, and marine structures such as harbours and docks through out the country and even the boundaries. Apart from this they are also involved in the construction of complex and sophisticated laboratories, workshops and factories, dockyards, runways, hangars and other marine structures.

Application Procedure

For all the notifications released by MES, the mode of application is via online. Go to their official website and visit their careers page. Go through the all the information given in the notification very clearly and check for all the eligibility criteria mentioned there such as nationality restrictions, education qualification required and the particular stream they are looking for, maximum age limit, relevant work experience, etc. On their careers page click on the new registration link. Fill up all the personal information such as email id and contact number. On submitting those details, the candidate would get an email or an SMS containing the registration number and login password. Login using those credentials and follow all the instructions mentioned there and fill up the application form. Upload all the required documents and submit the application.

Mode of selection

For most of the jobs depending on the position, there would be an online computer test or either through an offline test. For the candidates clarifying in this preliminary examination, there would be a written test for high grade posts. Generally this written test would be of multiple choice type including general awareness, arithmetic, reasoning, general intelligence and applicable subjects. There would be negative marking. Date, time and venue would be given by them and the same would be notified through their email. On qualifying, the exam next step would be document verification. Offer letter is issued on clearing all the medical fitness tests specified by them.
