NIELIT stands for National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology. This is an autonomous scientific society that is under the managerial control of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. This institute was started to carry out human resource development and other related activities in the areas of electronics, communications and information technology. They are engaged with both non-formal and formal education in the areas mentioned. They have also endeavored to establish standards to be India’s premier institution for certification and examinations in the fields related to IECT – Information, Electronics and Communications Technology. Currently, they have forty-three centers located all over the country such as Guwahati, Haridwar, Tezpur, Ajmer, Jammu, Pali, Ranchi, Patna, Lucknow, Chennai, Calicut, etc. and their head quarters is located at New Delhi. They have more than 700 institutes across India.

The vision of NIELIT is to become the leader in the development of industry oriented quality training and education and to grow as India’s premier institute for certification and examination in the fields of IT, electronics and communication.

Their mission is to be the only source for quality assurance in computer education in country’s non formal institutes. After turning out highly competent IT professionals in huge numbers, now they are extending to all regions in India and also overseas.

They have many objectives and those include developing skilled professionals and generating of quality manpower in the fields of IT, communications and electronics, through training, class education and accreditation services.

Application Procedure:

Visit the recruitment page of their official website. Find the notification you are interested in applying. Please check for all the eligibility criteria mentioned there, such as education qualification, age limit, relevant work experience, etc.

For some positions the mode of application is through online and for the rest candidates have to mail their application via email. To apply online visit the recruitment page of their official website and then click on the ‘Apply Here’ option. Selection process:

For most of the permanent posts (Group A and B) there would be a preliminary examination, mains test and a face to face interview. Eligible applicants would be informed to appear the preliminary test initially. After clearing the preliminary exam, they would be entitled to attempt the mains exam. Candidates clearing the mains exam would get a chance to attend the interview. The job is offered based on their performance in the interview. The most eligible candidates get the job on effectively clearing the interview and document verification.

For temporary positions, they screen the applications and call them for face to face interviews. So the mode of recruitment in such cases would be via interview.
