About the Company

The full form of NIMHANS is The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS). This is a multidisciplinary organization for patient care and academic pursuit in the areas of mental health and neurosciences.

This institute is synonymous with provided that high standards of quality training, clinical care, and cutting-edge research in the frontline areas. Mutual priorities for comprehensive patient care, manpower increase and research, stem from the commitment to an included and multidisciplinary approach which addresses public needs. The development in genomics, neuroimaging, mathematical modelling, computational neuroscience, molecular biology and a host of new disciplines including public health,  are being translated to help  humanity in vital and endorse the development of knowledge.

A special feature of this college since its start is the amalgamation of research and training with promotive, curative, and preventive aspects of clinical services in Neurosciences and Mental Health.

The manpower development programmes at this institute reflect the advances in fusing together and nurturing social sciences, basic biological sciences, neurosciences, and ancient health systems.

The NIMHANS carry inputs to the State and Central governments in regions comprising of the formation of new psychiatric facilities, development of remaining facilities and organizing a national curriculum for mental health.

This Institute has arose as the nodal centre for developing national strategies in the field of neurosciences, mental health, and injury. This demonstrates a unique model of popular partnership between the Union and State Governments under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

They have made important development and is a centre for brilliance in mental health and neuroscience in our nation. NIMHANS has produced more than a thousand psychiatrists, about six hundred Clinical Psychologists and Psychiatric Nurses so far those who are working in both international and national contexts. In the year 2012, NIMHANS was consulted the status of an Institute of National Importance.

Application Procedure:

For most of the posts, the mode of application is through post or courier or by hand. There would be an application form along with their official notification. The candidate has to download the application form, fill it and then encompass self attested photocopies of documents and certificates that talk about qualification, experience, age proof, training, etc. All these have to be enclosed and send to the destination they mentioned in the notification. The application form and those supporting documents have to reach them before the deadline. They would not entertain any applications that reach after the deadline.

Selection process:

Most of the vacancies released by NIMHANS are on a temporary basis, they initially recruit the candidates on a short term or temporary contractual basis and they extend the duration of the job if the performance of the candidate is satisfactory. But they are not permanent posts.

For initial screening, the shortlisting of the candidates is done based on the merit list. Candidates will get placed only if the applicants qualify for all the necessary requirements mentioned in the advertisement. The mode of selection for almost all the posts is through face to face interviews.

For some of the posts, they release notifications for the walk in mode of interviews. In that case, the selection is made based on the performance during the interview.

Different job types or roles in NIMHANS:

NIMHANS recruit for various job roles such as yoga therapist, nursing informatics, clinical trial manager, monitoring and evaluation officer, senior and junior research fellow, and many other research positions, etc. but most of the positions mentioned here are on a temporary basis.
