About the company

NIN stands for National Institute of Nutrition and this was founded during the year 1918, by Sri Robert Mc Carrison. They started as a small laboratory in a single room at Coonoor of Tamilnadu. They grew into a ‘Deficiency Disease Enquiry’ within seven years of their establishment. Later during the year 1928, they grew into NRL laboratories – Nutrition Research Laboratories with Dr McCarrison, as the first director of NRL. Later their laboratory has been shifted to Hyderabad in the year 1958. It was further renames as NIN -  National Institute of Nutrition in the year 1969, 50 years from their beginning.

They have achieved universal recognition for their advanced studies on different aspects of nutrition research and given special interest towards protein energy malnutrition. They have also achieved very close integration in their research activities among the clinics, laboratories and the community.

Their main emphasis shifted to problem oriented research and development in order to discover practical solutions to all the nutrition problems. Over these years they have serviced to the nation, and have their credit for impressive record of achievements in the enhancement of multiple nutritional disorders of humans.

Currently they are located in Osmania University with big buildings that are surrounded by greenery. This has been recognized by several international and national agencies as a centre of conducting progressive as well as ad-hoc training courses in laboratory and nutrition animal sciences.

Application Process

For some of the posts, candidates are required to submit their application forms online mode via email. They should fill the application form that is provided on their official website along with the notification. The filled-in application form, along with other scanned copies of necessary documents like mark lists, Curriculum vitae, work experience certificate if necessary, etc., have to be sent to the email address given in their notification.

For some of the positions mainly like office staff and administrative staff, the mode of application is through post or courier. There would be an application form along with their official notification. The candidate has to download the application form, fill it and then enclose self attested photocopies of documents and certificates that talk about qualification, experience, age proof, training, etc. All these have to be enclosed and sent to the address they mentioned in the notification. The application form and those supporting documents have to reach them before the deadline. They would not entertain any applications that reach after the deadline.

Mode of Selection

The mode of recruitment for most positions is via online or offline interviews. For initial screening, the shortlisting of the candidates is made based on the merit list. Candidates will get placed only if the applicants possess all the requirements that are mentioned in the advertisement. They do not provide any travelling or dining allowance for attending the interview.
