About the Institute
NIPGR stands for The National Institute of Plant Genome Research and this institute was previously known as National Centre for Plant Genome Research. This is an autonomous institution funded by the Department of Biotechnology, govt. of India. The establishment of this institute accords with the fiftieth anniversary of our country’s independence as well as birth anniversary of Prof. (Dr.) J. C. Bose. The official announcement was made during the end of the year 1997. NIPFR has already placed our country among the chief sponsors to plant genomics. It is expected that during the upcoming years, the constant efforts of this institute will allow our country to arise as one of the most significant national and global resource institutes for material, information and technologies in the regions of structural, functional, evolutionary as well as applied genomics of plants, together with crop plants. The whole working community of this institute is dedicated towards making the NIPGR a leading Institution in the fields of plant genomic research in the nation. The objectives and purposes of this institute are mainly to aid, promote, undertake, guide and also coordinate research and development of high caliber in elementary and also in the fields of applied plant molecular biology.
Application Procedure
The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, they do not accept any applications from the candidates do not fulfil the eligibility mentioned by them. Interested and eligible candidates may apply by sending a softcopy of the complete application in the given format with a cover letter showing interest and self-attested copies of the certificates and proof of research experience by e-mail provided in their official notification. The applications should reach within 15 days from the date of the advertisement. The subject of e-mail should be as mentioned in the notification, kindly pay attention to such details. Note: ONLY soft copy of the application in the given format will be accepted.
Mode of Recruitment
The mode of recruitment for these positions would be through interviews. They initially screen the applications received and then they call the short listed candidates to attend the interview.
Interview link will only be sent to shortlisted candidates. For any clarification candidates may contract Scientist Incharge through e-mail only. For faculty recruitment, the application process and the mode of selection would be entirely different. These details can be found in their notification.
