About the Company
Punjab State Electricity Board (PSPCL) is an Indian government-owned statutory body headquartered in Patiala, Punjab with the aim of electricity generation and distribution. Its sole responsibility is to take care of the operations and maintenance of Punjab state’s electricity generating projects and distribution.
PSPCL currently has 6 thermal power plants which are responsible to produce 6000+ MW power generation capacity and 10 hydel power plants under its governance. Since its inception, all the power stations under its guidance have been operated with the best plant load factor.
It helped create around 5 Lakhs new connections within the span of 2 years (between 2007-2009) and helped to realize the dream of 24 hours power supply facility for 100000+ villages. It has incorporated sophisticated technologies like remote meter reading and control of transformers, electronic meters, etc.
As a result of the strict measures and incorporation of new technologies helped PSPCL to reduce losses which directly resulted in an increase in revenue.
Application Process
Eligible candidates should download the application form from the job notification page for the respective role. Fill the form with correct personal and educational details.
All the required educational documents, experience documents, and No Objection Certificate (in case of experienced candidates) to be attached along with the application form and the documents to be sent to the address mentioned on the job notification via registered post. Candidates can also submit the documents and application form in person by visiting the address. Any application with wrong information or if any document is missed while sending the application, such application will be rejected without any further communication.
Another mode of accepting applications is purely online but it depends on the job notification that they release.
Selection Process
Once the deadline is closed for submitting the applications, PSPCL releases a notification with the details of reservation, eligibility criteria, selection process, Pay structure along with the shortlisted candidates for document verification. All types of communication with respect to the second wave selection process such as document verification, a personal interview will only be available on the PSPCL recruitment page.
Hence, applied candidates should be visiting the recruitment page on a regular basis in order to keep updated and to avoid missing out on the deadlines.
One more important behavior which you can see in the selection process is, the PSPCL selection process for the majority of the roles is based on the GATE score and CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) score.
Unlike the majority of the companies, PSPCL gives an additional chance for the shortlisted candidates to appear for document verification in case they missed appearing for the first time.
