About the company:

The full form of SAMEER is Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research. This centre comes under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. This society was set up as an autonomous research and development laboratory at Bombay under the Department of Electronics, govt. of India to work in the areas of electromagnetic engineering and microwave engineering. This was established in the year 1984 and was set up at the TATA INSTITUTE OF FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH (TIFR), Bombay. In 1987, the centre of Electromagnetics, Chennai, was then combined with SAMEER. In 1994, SAMEER Kolkata centre was set up for research and development in Millimetrewave Technology. Later a new branch is being established at Navi Mumbai campus of SAMEER for expansion of EMI or EMC facility for CE marking of electronics products. Their vision is to achieve brilliance in application oriented research in the field of Microwave and RF electronics and electromagnetics.

Application Procedure:

Before applying, Candidates are suggested to go through the advertisement carefully in detail for determining their eligibility criteria for the post. Candidates possessing the requisite qualification on the cut-off date are only eligible to apply. If you do not fulfil any of the criteria, do not start your application. While filling your online application, applicants pursuing final semester or final year can enter details of their result up to the semester/year (as per applicability) for which result is declared. The shortlisting will be done considering their result as entered in online application. The shortlisting at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Candidates are supposed to register and apply on their official website. No other means of mode of application will be accepted. Candidate need not upload any documents while filling up the form. After submission of the form, the candidate have to take a printout of the application form and send the hard copy by post along with copies of following self-attested supporting documents to the mentioned postal address.

Selection process:

For most of the posts like scientist roles selection will be done through a written examination and interview. All eligible candidates who have successfully submitted the online application would be called for a written examination. Written test shall be of 3 hours duration conducted in English medium only and will be held at Mumbai, Chennai & Kolkata. Examination would be objective type and will be based on GATE syllabus. The minimum percentage of marks required to qualify for the written test will be 50% for General/EWS, 40% for OBC, 30% for the SC/ST/PWD categories. However, they may restrict the maximum number of candidates to be shortlisted for participating in the interview to a reasonable ratio/number. Only the shortlisted candidates who have qualified the written examination shall be called for interview. The final selection will be based on the candidates’ combined performance in the written exam and the interview after verification of documents submitted by the candidates.

For jobs like clerks and multi-tasking staff, the recruitment is direct without any interviews.
