About the company:

The full form of SCCL is the Singareni Collieries Company Limited. This company is a coal mining organization in India that is owned by the government.  As a part of one of the public sector undertakings, this organization is now mutually owned by the Telangana government (fifty one percent) and the Union Government (forty nine percent). The Union Government's management of the organization is via the Ministry of Coal. This organization is presently working at forty eight mines in which 19 are opencast and 29 are underground mines in six districts of Telangana (the rest are in four districts of Andhra Pradesh). They have a manpower of round 45,079 by November 2020. They are contributing around 9.2% in all India Domestic Production of coal. Since the beginning of SCCL (1889) 1.36 BT of Coal has been extracted and it has proved reserves of 10.84 BT.

The primary mission of SCCL is to retain its strategic role of being a premier coal producing company in the nation and outshine in a healthy competitive business environment. They also strive for self dependent by minimum utilization of their resources and gain adequate profits on capital employed. They envision exploiting the available mining blocks by conserving and adopting suitable technologies and methods to upgrade themselves against international benchmarks. They want to emerge as a model employer and to maintain balanced industrial relations within the social and legal framework of Telangana.
