About the Corporation

SMC means Surat Municipal Corporation. This corporation is a local self government which has come into existence under the Bombay Provincial Municipal Act of the year 1949. They carry out all the compulsory functions and flexible functions delegated by the BPMC Act of 1949. The main mission of this corporation is to make their city of Surat a beautiful, vibrant, self-reliant, dynamic, and sustainable city with all basic facilities, to deliver a better eminence of life and also they perceive their part as the major facilitator and benefactor of services to provide a better quality of life to their people.
