Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) is ranked amongst the best film schools in the world and widely known as one of the prestigious film and television institutes in India. Located in Kolkata, West Bengal, the institute was established in 1995 and was named after one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, Satyajit Ray. From its inception, SRFTI has been an autonomous institute funded by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India.

The institute delivers technical expertise, higher and professional education in the art and technique of television production and film making. With 2 years and 3 years courses, the institute covers all the aspects related to the film and television industry.

With the state of art facilities, under the mentorship and guidance of experienced professors, the work produced by the students and alumni of the institute have been getting nominated in the prestigious film festivals, winning numerous national and international awards. 

The institute’s organizational structure is vast with a dedicated department for each and every section of the film and television.

Application Process

SRFTI has recently released a notification for 5 specific positions i.e Dean, Professor Editing, Assistant Professor (Direction & Film History), Animator, and Production Assistant. The deadline to accept the applications is 23/03/2021 except for the position of Product Assistant. The deadline to accept applications for this particular role is 11/05/2021.

Interested candidates should post the physical application form to the director of the institute. Visit the Vacancy page in their official website and click on the notification where you can find the detailed process of filling the application and the sending process.

Before sending your application form, ensure to read all the eligibility criteria such as the age limit, qualification & experience, and the roles and responsibilities of a particular position that you are applying for.

Pay special attention to the critical information such as “process of filling the application, certificates and documents to be attached along with the application form, details of demand draft (DD) to be attached etc.” Failing to follow any mandatory process would lead to disqualification of your application.

Selection Process

Upon receiving the applications, the concerned authority of the SRFTI will shortlist the eligible candidates based on the criteria fixed by the institute. In case of applications received are huge in number compared to the number of positions available, if the eligible candidates list is high for any particular position, final shortlisting criteria will be solely decided by the institute.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test or for an interview (or both as applicable).
