SSC
About:
The full form of SSC is Staff Selection Commission. SSC is an associate degree organization under the Government of India to recruit employees for varied posts within the subordinate offices, various Ministries, and Departments of the Government of India.
This organization is a combined workplace of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) consisting of a Chairman, a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations, and 2 Members. His post is equal to the additional Secretary to the govt of India.
The Estimates committee in the Parliament counseled the establishment of a Service choice Commission in its forty seventh report (1967–68) to conduct exams to recruit lower classes of posts. Later, in the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, in the year1975 Government of the Republic of India grooved a commission referred to as Subordinate Service Commission. On twenty-six Sept 1977, Subordinate Services Commission was again renamed as Staff Selection Commission. The functions of SSC were redefined by the govt of India via Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances starting from the year 1999. Then the new constitution and functions of SSC came into result from June 1999. To recruit non-gazetted officers, each year SSC conducts the SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination.
Application Procedure:
Enter into SSC official website and search for the ‘apply’ option. For every exam conducted by SSC like CGL, CHSL, JE, CAPF, JHT, Stenographers, constable and other departmental exams, they have a separate link to apply. Interested candidates can create an account in their website and keep it ready. When they release a notification for a certain post, the ‘apply here’ option would be visible. Go through the notification clearly and see if you fulfill all the eligibility criteria set up by them. If you are an eligible candidate, you can click on apply here option and start your application process. Please fill up all the necessary details, upload all the documents they ask the candidate to submit. Please make sure the size and format of the documents are of their mentioned size. Finally, click on the submit option. Re-check after you fill in all the details, do not commit any mistakes during your application. There would be a minimal application fee (not for all, there are certain exemptions).
Selection process:
The mode of recruitment is through an initial Computer-based examination, Tier – I, Tier – II and a skill test. Paper – I would be of an online exam consisting of multiple-choice questions and the second paper would be of a descriptive test. Skill test checks data entry speed (2000 key depressions should be done in 15 minutes), and powerpoint presentation or generation of slides and a spread sheet in MS Excel (Time given would be 15 minutes for each module).
Job types or roles released by SSC:
SSC conducts ‘Combiner Graduate Level Examination (SSC CGL)’ for recruitment into posts like Assistant audit or accounts officer, divisional accountant, auditor, accountant. The other exams conducted by SSC are Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam (SSC CHSL), Junior Hindi translator, junior engineer, SSC multitasking staff, Selection post, SI (Central police organization), SSC GD Constable and Stenographer C and D.
