SVNIT stands for Sardar Vallabhai National Institute of Technology. This was established during the year 1961 and situated at Surat. This institute is popularly known as National Institute of Technology, Surat. This is an engineering institute of higher education established by the Parliament of India during the year 1961.

The mission of this institute is to be a principal technical Institute both at national level and at global level for communicating training to manpower as per the necessities of technology. It is also foreseen to arrange for the essential infrastructure to take up research and development works and to deliver the machinery to work together with several industries efficiently.

The vision of the institute perceives to be an internationally recognised centre of brilliance in technical education catalysing absorption, invention, diffusion and transference of high technologies consequential in improved brilliance for all the investors.

At the moment, they are offering six under graduate programmes, 18 post graduate programmes and 3 master of science and also five years integrated programme including doctoral programme in all those branches.

Their main objectives includes offering quality programmes in the engineering at undergraduate, post graduate and doctorate levels and to promote Industrial and Institute interaction.

Mode of Selection:

The mode of recruitment for most of the positions is via written test followed by an interview. This procedure might change according to the designation and the posts. They generally conduct a written exam, and then an interview to recruit candidates for many of the positions. Once the application deadline is closed, eligible candidates would be notified through their registered email id to appear for the initial online or a written test. After clearing this initial exam, shortlisted candidates can attend the face to face interview. For some positions they might conduct only interviews, depending on the position level and experience and other factors.
