The full form of TNPSC is The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). This is a department under the government of Tamil Nadu state, which is responsible for managing all the recruitment of candidates for the state’s government service. TNPSC is a successor of MSC, which is the Madras Service Commission. This came into existence under the act of Madras Legislature in the year 1929. This is the first provincial public service commission started in our country. The name came into existence during 1970. They operated under articles 314 to 323 of the constitution of India.

As assigned by the constitution of India, the Public Service Commission of Tamil Nadu systematically purposes at making and fostering a public service that is independent, ethical, impartial, and effective and being proficient and sufficient to satisfy the new challenges met by their government and open to the growing hopes of the general public at large and marginalized sections in particular.

The missions of TNPSC include ensuring a fair, free and transparent recruitment methods for the state public services through leveraging information technology solutions.
